HIstory of Metropolian Community Churches Philippines

  • 1968 – The Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches was founded by the Rev. Troy D. Perry based in Los Angeles California, USA.
  • 1991 – MCC was brought in the Philippines through the missionary efforts of Rev. Fr. Richard Mickley.
  • September 07, 1991 – Metropolitan Community Church Manila was established in the Philippines.  The first GLBT affirming church in Asia.
  • June 26, 1994 – The first GLBT Pride March in Asia was celebrated in the Philippines headed by MCC Manila and Pro-Gay Philippines.
  • 1996 – Rev. Ptr. Edgar Mendoza succeeded the office of Rev. Fr. Richard Mickley as pastor of MCC Manila.
  • 2001-2002 – Bro. Crecencio Agbayani Jr.  became the Interim Pastoral Leader of MCC Manila after the term of Ptr. Mendoza.
  • 2002 -2003 – Bro. Lino Tan Lee became the Interim Pastoral Leader of MCC Manila after the term of Bro. Agbayani.
  • 2003 – 2004 – Bro. Bjorn San Diego became the Interim Pastoral Leader of  MCC Manila after the term of Bro.Encelan.
  • 2004 – 2005 – Bro. Jojo Encelan became the Interim Pastoral Leader of MCC Manila after the term of Bro. San Diego.  MCC Manila became MCC Philippines.
  • 2005 – 2008 – Ptr. Regen Luna became the Interim Pastoral Leader of MCC Philippines.  During his term MCC Quezon City was born through the missionary efforts of Bro. Agbayani.  Ptr. Regen is the longest Interim Pastoral Leader in the history of MCC Philippines.
  • 2006 – MCC Quezon City was established through the efforts of Bro. now Rev. Cj Agbayani Jr.
  • 2009 – MCC Baguio City was established through the efforts of Rev. Agabayani and Fr. Mike Sotero.
  • 2009 – Bro. Joey Ventayen was named the next Interim Pastoral Leader of MCC Philippines after the term of Ptr. Luna.
  • 2009, September 23rd – Ptr. Regen R. Luna founded the Metropolitan Community Church Dasmarinas Cavite.
